Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This policy explains what information PromptHub collects, why we collect it and how we protect it. We collect as little personal information as we need to run the service.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account we store your username, display name, email address and a securely hashed password. You can also add a bio and an avatar.
  • Content you submit. Prompts, descriptions and tags you submit, together with their review status.
  • Contact messages. Your name, email address and message when you use the contact form.
  • Usage counters. We count how often prompts are viewed and copied. Copy counts are stored as daily totals per prompt and are not linked to you.
  • Security data. To prevent abuse, we keep short-lived records of sign-in and form attempts. IP addresses used for this are stored only as one-way hashes. Our web server also keeps standard access logs for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and local storage

We use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against misuse. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use information

  • To provide your account and show your public profile and published prompts.
  • To review submissions and keep the community safe.
  • To send essential emails such as email verification and password resets.
  • To reply to messages you send us.

We do not sell your personal information.

Public and private profiles

If your profile is public, your display name, username, bio, avatar and published prompts are visible to everyone. If you make your profile private, your profile page is hidden. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Data retention

We keep account information while your account is active. Contact messages and security records are deleted when they are no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information. To make a request, please contact us.

Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords and other safeguards to protect your information. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a unique password for your account.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
